On the western façade of St. Sarkis Armenian Church in Dallas, there is a beautiful Armenian cross. From a distance, it looks like one single image. But when you step closer, you see that it is made of 1.5 million digitally-printed icons, each one representing a life lost in the Armenian Genocide of 1915. Every image is different. No two are the same. Each one carries its own detail, its own beauty, and its own sacred place within the cross.
We are all like those small pieces. There are times in life when we feel small. We look around at the talent, success, and strength of others, and we begin to wonder whether our own life really matters. In a world so large and crowded, we can start to feel like one small, unnoticed presence.
But that is never how God sees you. You are not overlooked by Him. You are not an accident. You are not one among many in the eyes of God. You are His creation, formed with care, designed with purpose, and filled with something unique that no one else can bring in quite the same way.
The Scripture says that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139). Think about that. The Creator of the universe made you with intention. Before anyone knew your name, God knew you. Before anyone saw your potential, God placed it within you. Before you took your first breath, your days were already in His hands.
You do not have to spend your life wishing you had someone else’s gifts, someone else’s platform, someone else’s personality, or someone else’s path. God never asked you to be them. He created you to be you. He does not ask all of us to shine in the same way. But He does ask each of us to bring what He has placed within us.
So, do not shrink back. Do not speak against your own life. Do not dismiss your value. Stand with gratitude for who God made you to be. Receive your life as a gift. Thank Him for your story, your calling, your heart, your journey. Walk in confidence, knowing that you are here by divine design. In the hands of God, no life is without meaning, and no soul is without purpose.
