In his first letter St. John the Evangelist writes a lot about how a person can know if he/she belongs to God or not; He gives a series of tests by which we can examine our lives, our behavior, our attitudes and our faith to see where we are. And at the end, John wants above all to reassure the faithful members of the church that if they believe in Jesus Christ, they have a hope and a bright future. For us also who have faith in Jesus, who believe in the name of the Son of God, we share in this hope and in this glorious future, which is the Eternal Life!
