Walking with God

Now that we are back in the United States, many have asked me what the pilgrimage to Jerusalem was like. I tell them it was a great joy to lead a beautiful group of people of deep faith and prayer, and to see them walk, pray, and support one another was truly moving. Their faith strengthened one another, and it strengthened me as well.
As we walked through the Holy Land, one truth kept returning to my heart: from the very beginning of Scripture, faith is described as a walk. Enoch walked with God (Genesis 5:24). Noah walked with God even in a broken world (Genesis 6:9).
That same message continues in the New Testament, where Lord Jesus declares, “I am the Way” (John 14:6), and for three years, the disciples walked with Him from town to town, so much so that the first believers were called “Followers of the Way” (Acts 24:14).
Faith was never meant to be a belief in the mind. It was meant to be a way of living, step by step, day by day, staying close to God.
Walking the streets of Jerusalem made this truth deeply personal for me. Three years ago, after my car accident, there were moments when I wondered if I would ever walk normally again. Those were difficult days, filled with pain, uncertainty, and unanswered questions. Every small step required effort. Every bit of progress felt slow. But God was present in those steps.
So imagine what it meant to walk again, not in a hospital hallway or a physical therapy room, but in the very places where Jesus Himself walked. Each step became a prayer. Each step became an act of thanksgiving. It felt like walking with God all over again, and in that walk, I was reminded of His faithfulness.
Perhaps today you are on a difficult path of your own. Maybe you are wondering if you will ever move forward again—emotionally, spiritually, or physically. You may feel tired, uncertain, or stuck. Here is the good news: God is not asking you to run. He is simply inviting you to walk with Him, one step at a time.
If you keep walking, healing will come. If you keep walking, clarity will come. If you keep walking, strength will rise within you. You may not see the whole road ahead, but you do not need to. God sees it. He is walking beside you. And as long as you keep walking with Him, you are never walking alone.
