Trusting Beyond Understanding

"Why?" It's a question we all ask, especially in times of trial and uncertainty. It's natural to want to understand the reasons behind our pain, thinking that clarity might ease our burden. But as Scripture reminds us, "like the heavens for height, like the earth for depth, so the mind of kings is unsearchable" (Proverbs 25:3). There's a divine mystery to God's ways that we can't always comprehend.

Here's the comforting truth: not everything will make sense to us on this side of eternity. God doesn't owe us explanations, nor does He need our permission for His plans. He is sovereign, and we are His creation, often limited in our understanding. As 1 Corinthians 13:12 says, "For now we see only a reflection, as in a mirror, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known."

We are like children peeking through a keyhole, catching only glimpses of the vast world beyond. One day, when we stand before our Lord, the full picture will be revealed. We will understand the reasons behind our life's challenges, the trials, and the tribulations. Until that glorious day, God calls us to trust Him with childlike, pure faith.

During these trying times, especially with the conflicts we're seeing around the world, many seek answers. It's natural to seek answers, but those who are suffering don't need complicated theological explanations. They need the comforting presence of Jesus Christ in their lives.

So, the next time you find yourself or someone asking, "Why?" remember that it's okay not to have all the answers. Instead of being consumed by the need to understand, let's be consumed by the desire to trust. Let's lean into faith, trusting that God is with us, even when the answers aren't clear. One day, it will all make sense, and we'll look back and say, "Ah, now I understand." Until then, let's hold on to the hope and peace that come from knowing God is in control, guiding us through every challenge.
