Trust in God

Isn’t it amazing how, in life, we place our trust in so many things we don’t fully understand? We go to doctors we’ve never met, and yet we trust them to take care of our health. They give us prescriptions with names we can hardly pronounce, and we trust that those pills and ointments will work wonders. We walk into a pharmacy, and a stranger hands us something that we hope will heal us, and we follow their instructions without hesitation.

What if we trusted God with that same unwavering faith? The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” This is more than just a suggestion—it’s a command. And yet, how often do we rely on our own understanding first? We tend to trust what we know, what makes sense to us, and what we can see with our own eyes. We try to control every detail, to figure it all out. But faith is not about understanding everything; it’s about trusting God even when we don’t have all the answers.

The word for trust in the Armenian version of this verse is Ապաւինել (abavinel), which means to take refuge. Think about what that means. A refuge is a place of safety, a place where you can rest without fear. It’s like a child running to their parent and throwing themselves onto their lap, knowing that they are safe, secure, and loved. They don't question whether their parent will catch them. They don't worry if their parent has the strength to hold them. They simply trust.

This is what God is calling us to do. Trust Him completely—without reservation, without second-guessing. Trust that His plan is better than our own understanding. Trust that He knows the way, even when we can’t see it. Just like we don’t question the doctor’s prescription, we don’t have to question God’s love or His guidance. We know that His ways are perfect, even when life doesn’t make sense.

So, let’s run into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. Let’s rest in His care, knowing that He is always with us, guiding us, and holding us every step of the way. Let’s trust Him fully and watch how He moves in our lives in ways we never imagined, changing them forever.
