The Light That Multiplies

There is something beautiful about light. When one candle lights another, nothing is lost. The flame does not weaken, the light does not diminish, and the warmth does not fade. Instead, the room becomes brighter. What once held shadows now begins to glow. Light multiplies simply by being shared.

That’s how God designed your life to work.

When you give love, you don’t lose love. When you offer kindness, encouragement, or hope, you don’t run out, you step into abundance. The moment you choose to shine, something shifts. The atmosphere changes. The space around you becomes warmer, brighter, lighter.

Scripture tells us, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5). Yet many of us hesitate to believe this for ourselves. We think, “I don’t have enough strength. I’ve been through too much. I need to preserve what little light I have left.” But God reminds us that His light is not fragile. It does not shrink when shared. When you give light, He replenishes it.

Some of you have walked through seasons that tried to dim your flame. You’ve faced loss, disappointment, unanswered prayers, and moments when you wondered if you still had anything left to give. But look at you. You’re still standing. You’re still shining. God has been sustaining your light even when you didn’t realize it.

And now He’s inviting you to let it shine again, not because everything is perfect, but because your light is needed. This world doesn’t need more noise or more voices complaining about the darkness. It needs people who choose to light a candle. It needs people who carry peace into chaos, hope into despair, compassion into wounded places.

When you light another person’s candle, the atmosphere changes. A simple smile can lift a weary heart. A kind word can soften a hardened spirit. A quiet prayer can carry someone through a difficult night. Sometimes your presence alone becomes the miracle.

So don’t hide what God placed inside you. Don’t underestimate the power of your presence. You don’t have to be loud to be luminous. You don’t have to be perfect to be powerful. One candle can change an entire room.

Let your light shine today. Light another candle. And watch how God fills the room with His glory.
