I’m Ready

I’m in California now. My father, a man of great strength and love, is beginning a new round of radiation and chemotherapy. I flew to Los Angeles to be with him, to sit beside him, not with solutions, but with presence. And there, in that hospital room, with the machines humming and nurses bustling about, he turned to me and simply said, “I’m ready.”
He didn’t say, “I understand it all.” He didn’t say, “I have no fear.” He said, “I’m ready. Ready to trust. Ready to believe. Ready to face whatever comes with God beside him.
And friends, that is faith. Faith doesn’t mean you always feel strong. It doesn’t mean you have all the answers. It means you trust even when the road is uncertain. You hold on even when your hands are trembling. You believe even when your heart is breaking.
Jesus said in John 16:33, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Christ never said the road would be easy. But He said we’d never walk it alone. When the diagnosis is frightening... He’s there. When the treatment is painful... He’s there. When the nights are long and the tears are many... He’s still there.
Some of you are in a hard place right now. You’re praying for healing for yourself, for someone you love. Some of you are praying for peace in your family, for a relationship that feels fractured beyond repair. Some of you are praying for a breakthrough at work, or the strength just to get out of bed and face another day.
And maybe you don’t feel strong. Maybe you feel like giving up. But hear me: you don’t need to have all the answers. You don’t need to feel strong every moment. Like my father, you can simply say, “I’m ready.” Ready to trust. Ready to take the next step. Ready to walk into the unknown with your hand in the hand of the Savior.
God honors that kind of faith. The faith that walks through the fire. The faith that doesn’t run from the storm but clings to the One who calms it. The faith that says, “Even if I don’t know what tomorrow holds, I know who holds me today.” That’s enough.
May God have mercy on your father- he is in my prayers
