God’s Phone Number

When I was a child, memorizing phone numbers was very important. There were no cell phones, no contact lists, and no saved numbers. You had to know the number by heart.
I still remember our home phone number from my childhood: 487988. My parents taught it to me carefully. They said, “If you ever get lost, tell someone this number, and they will help you find your way home.”
That number meant safety. It meant that no matter where I was, there was a way back to my parents, back to the familiar door, back to the place where I belonged.
Today, most of us no longer memorize phone numbers. Our smartphones remember them for us. But there is one number every Christian should carry in the heart:
Jeremiah 33:3. “Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.”
Someone once called this verse God’s phone number. When you feel lost, call Him. When you are afraid, pray to Him. When you feel alone, speak to Him.
When you do not know what to do, become still and listen for His voice. You do not need a signal. You do not need a password. You do not have to wait on hold. Heaven is always open to the heart that prays.
Life can make us feel lost sometimes. We become lost in worry, anger, disappointment, temptation, sadness, and confusion. We may know where we are physically, yet feel far away from peace, hope, and even from ourselves.
Prayer is the way back home. When we pray, we remember that we are not abandoned. We are not forgotten. We are not spiritual orphans wandering through life alone. We are children of God. We belong to Him.
God may not always answer in the way we expect. Sometimes He changes the situation. Sometimes He changes our hearts. Sometimes He opens a door. Sometimes He gives us strength to wait. But He always hears the sincere prayer of His children.
So memorize God’s phone number: Jeremiah 33:3. When you feel lost, call Him. He will answer. He will guide you. He will lead you home.
