Recently, I was going through some old files, and I stumbled upon my childhood album—full of pictures from years ago. There were snapshots of family gatherings, school events, special moments with friends, and even some baby photos of me and my brother. Each photo brought back memories, and I found myself smiling, thinking about how God had blessed me over the years. It warmed my heart all over again.
Isn’t it amazing how we hold onto those cherished moments? We capture them, put them in an album, and when we open it, it takes us back. It’s like time-traveling to a place where joy was overflowing, where life felt lighter, where love was all around. In a beautiful way, God also has His own way of treasuring memories.
The prophet Malachi writes, “Then those who feared the Lord spoke with one another. The Lord paid attention and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before Him of those who feared the Lord and esteemed His name.” (Malachi 3:16).
Just like we might keep a photo album or a scrapbook of our favorite memories, our Heavenly Father has a book of remembrance. He keeps track of every act of kindness, every time we choose to do the right thing, every moment we put our faith in Him.
Friends, when you wonder if anyone saw your sacrifice, God did. When you chose to forgive, to love, to serve—when no one else was watching, God was. Every tear, every prayer, every moment you chose to shine His light, it’s all there, written in His book. Nothing you’ve ever done for God will be forgotten.
And when we get to eternity, God might just sit down with us and say, “Let’s take a look at this moment together. Remember when you spoke My name with love? Remember when you helped that person in need? Let’s look at it again.” Just like a proud parent showing off a scrapbook, God delights in those moments. And one day, He’ll share them with us.
