Scientists say milk is one of the most complete foods on earth. It’s rich in everything your body needs—proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals. And it’s perfectly balanced. It’s as if God designed it Himself—and of course, He did! There’s no real substitute for milk. It’s made to nourish us from the moment we come into this world.

And that’s why the Bible uses milk to describe something even more powerful—our spiritual nourishment. 1 Peter 2:2 says, “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.” The same way a baby needs milk every day to grow strong and healthy, you and I need God’s grace, His Word, His presence—every single day—to grow strong spiritually.

Some people are walking around spiritually malnourished. They’ve stopped drinking the milk. They’ve stopped opening their Bible, stopped praying, stopped coming to church. And they wonder why they’re discouraged, why they’re anxious, why they feel like something’s missing. It’s because they’re running on empty.

But when you crave that pure spiritual milk, something starts to change. You get stronger. That weakness leaves. That confusion begins to lift. You start walking with confidence. You’re no longer tossed by every wave of emotion or setback. You’re grounded. You’re steady.

And let me tell you, there’s no substitute for the real thing. The world may offer all kinds of spiritual “energy drinks”—quick fixes, empty promises, feel-good philosophies—but they don’t satisfy. They leave you tired. They leave you searching. But when you crave God, when you drink of His goodness, He fills you with life, with purpose, with peace that passes understanding.

Friends, protect your appetite. Don’t fill up on bitterness. Don’t snack on comparison. Don’t let the junk food of jealousy or negativity spoil your taste for the things of God. Keep your spirit clean. Keep your heart hungry.

So, each day, make it a habit to nourish your soul. Open your Bible. Spend time in prayer. Go to church. Lend a helping hand to others. And before long, you’ll feel your soul getting stronger. You’ll feel your peace growing deeper, your vision getting clearer, your walk becoming steadier. And you’ll grow firm and strong in your salvation.
