The Sixth Hour

Crucifixion, Cross

God created Man on the sixth day of creation. It was also on the sixth day that Adam and Eve sinned, and fell from the presence of the Lord. Humanity was condemned to death and eternal separation from God.

The first Adam sinned on the sixth day of Creation, and Jesus Christ, the second Adam, redeemed him and was crucified for our sins also on the sixth day of the week (Friday) and on the sixth hour (12:00 P.M.). “Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.” Matthew 27:45

Thus, every Friday at noon we meditate on the Passion and Crucifixion of our Lord. We fast and pray that, through Christ’s life-giving passion, we may receive God’s mercy according to His great love.

"Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." Hebrews 4:16
