Ascension

Today we celebrate the Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ. This sacred day marks forty days since the Resurrection, when Jesus, in His glorified body, ascended to heaven.

In his gospel, Saint Matthew the Evangelist records the final words of Jesus before his Ascension: "And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:21).

What a beautiful promise! God remains constantly by our side, throughout the ages, for all who believe in Him. Our Savior Jesus is present in our lives every day, just as He promised: "For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them" (Matthew 18:20). It is our responsibility to recognize and feel His presence, and to rely on His love.

We can only perceive God's presence through the eyes of faith. He walks beside us throughout life's journey, and we are never alone. Even in the darkness and uncertainty, even in moments of solitude, we are never truly alone.

The assurance of "I am with you always" should empower us with strength and courage. May the presence of God fill our hearts with limitless joy and grant us the peace that surpasses all understanding.
